Shoprithm (“we,” “us,” “the app”) is a Shopify application operated by Mohamed Owais Ansari. This policy describes what data we process when a merchant installs Shoprithm, why we process it, where it is processed, how long we keep it, and what rights you and your customers have over it. Shoprithm is an embedded app that runs only inside your Shopify admin — it does not run on your storefront and does not place any script, pixel, or cookie in front of your customers.
When you install Shoprithm, we sync a limited set of data from your Shopify store into our own database, so the app’s features can run fast, reliable queries without repeatedly calling Shopify’s API on every request. Specifically:
We only sync what powers the app’s features above — not every object Shopify makes available to us. We never collect or store your payment card or bank details; all billing is handled directly by Shopify (see “Billing” below).
We process this data to power Shoprithm’s features:
We never use your data for any purpose beyond providing these features to you, and we never sell your data or your customers’ data to any third party.
Shoprithm uses a third-party AI language-model provider (currently Groq) to phrase answers and summaries in plain language. The underlying numbers are always computed by our own code directly from your synced data — the AI model only phrases the explanation, it never calculates the numbers itself, and it never has the ability to create, change, or delete anything in your store. Any action the AI proposes (such as a discount) is built by our own deterministic code and only ever runs after you explicitly confirm it.
We send the AI provider only what’s needed to answer the specific question asked — for most questions, that’s aggregate counts and totals, not customer lists. A small number of questions are inherently about individual customers (for example, “who are my top customers” or looking up a specific order’s details); for those, the customer email addresses involved in that answer are included. We do not send full customer histories or your entire customer/order database to the AI provider for every question.
Shoprithm is offered on a free tier and paid subscription tiers, billed monthly through Shopify’s own Billing API — current pricing for each tier is shown inside the app. We never see or store your payment card details; Shopify collects payment and manages your subscription directly. Paid plans may include a free trial period, shown to you before you subscribe.
We retain your store’s data only for as long as Shoprithm remains installed on your store. When you uninstall Shoprithm, and again when Shopify separately notifies us (via its shop/redact webhook, sent on Shopify’s own schedule after uninstall) that your shop’s data must be erased, we automatically and permanently delete all data associated with your store from our systems.
If one of your customers asks Shopify to delete their data, we honor Shopify’s customers/redact webhook by deleting that customer’s record from our database. If one of your customers asks Shopify what data we hold about them, we honor Shopify’s customers/data_request webhook by sending a copy of the data we hold on that customer to your store’s contact email — as the store owner, you are responsible for relaying that information to the customer, consistent with Shopify’s compliance process.
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate the app, each acting on our instructions and only for that purpose:
Sensitive configuration values (such as a connected Slack webhook URL) are encrypted at rest. In production, connections to our database and cache are encrypted in transit. Access to your store’s data from our backend requires an internal application secret; nothing about your store is reachable without it.
You and your customers can request access to, or deletion of, personal data we hold by contacting us at [email protected] or through Shopify’s standard customer privacy request tools.
We may update this policy as the app changes. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
